Religious and Values Education

Our Ethos

Scoil Mhuire Brierhill is a Catholic school under the patronage of the Bishop of Galway, Kilmacduagh and Kilfenora, committed to nurturing a welcoming, inclusive, and caring community. Our ethos is central to school life, shaping the way pupils, staff, and families interact. We strive to create an environment where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to grow academically, socially, morally, and spiritually. Through the consistent modelling of respect, empathy, and responsibility, our pupils are guided to develop positive values that extend beyond the classroom and contribute to a strong, cohesive school community.

Sacramental Education

At Scoil Mhuire Brierhill, religious education is guided by the Grow in Love programme, providing a structured and age-appropriate approach to faith formation and sacramental preparation. We work closely with families, recognising parents as the primary educators of faith, to support each child’s spiritual journey. Our approach integrates faith into daily life, helping pupils connect their learning with their actions, relationships, and understanding of social responsibility. Sacramental celebrations and liturgical events are planned to be meaningful, reflective, and memorable, fostering a deep appreciation of Catholic teachings and community life.
